The Rogue Guide
Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Congratulations on your new tattoo! The first 2-3 weeks are the most critical for the healing process , so please follow these essential steps to ensure the best results for your new art.
1. The First Few Hours
- Keep the bandage on: Leave the bandage applied by Rohit Sharma on for at least 2 to 4 hours.
- Wash your hands: Always wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap before touching your new tattoo.
- First wash: Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Use your fingers only – do not use a washcloth or sponge.
- Pat dry: Gently pat the area dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub it.
2. The First Week (Clean & Moisturize)
- Moisturize sparingly: Apply a very thin layer of a recommended tattoo ointment or fragrance-free lotion. The tattoo should have a slight sheen, not be “gooped” with cream.
- Frequency: Wash and moisturize 2–3 times a day.
- Let it breathe: Avoid tight clothing that rubs against the tattoo.
3. What To Avoid (Critical)
- Do Not Pick Or Scratch: Your tattoo will itch and peel (like a sunburn). This is normal. Picking or scratching can pull the ink out and cause scarring.
- No Soaking: Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, lakes, and long baths for at least 2 weeks. Normal showering is fine.
- Sun Protection: Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight during the healing phase. Once healed, always use SPF 50+ sunscreen to prevent fading.
- No Exercise: Avoid heavy sweating or stretching the tattooed area for the first few days.
4. What Is Normal?
- Oozing: It is normal for the tattoo to “weep” ink, plasma, or a little blood for the first 24 – 48 hours.
- Redness & Swelling: Some minor swelling and soreness around the area is expected.
If you experience extreme swelling, heavy redness that spreads, or if you have any questions during the healing process, please contact me immediately.
